How RA and DS are licensed?

- RA is licensed on a per-seat basis. This means that you have to buy a license per installed program
  (Master, Slave or DS).

   Without the DS:
Only Masters require a registration key -Slaves can be moved at will as long as you own a license
for each installed Slave. You can also use an USB NIC to move your Master license at will (the
license key will remain the same).

   With the DS:
Only the DS requires a registration key -Masters no longer need keys and can be moved like Slaves.

How does the DS License Recycling feature works?

- If you need to access remote Slave PCs on a permanent basis then you will need a "static" Slave license for each of those PCs.

But if you need to access a PC when users request assistance then only one Slave license will do the job providing that you have enabled the "recycling" DS option. When you deploy a new Slave on a PC the DS will disable access to the oldest Slave and will eventually uninstall it when it will be reachable -making room for the newly deployed Slave.

Of course, having a bunch of Slaves offers more flexibility since you can define on a per case basis which Slaves licenses are "recycled" and which Slave licenses should remain "static".

Master licenses are attached to a Network Adapter (see the next question below) but you can simply delete a Master from the DS database in order to "recycle" the Master license on another PC.

Having a few Master licenses allows you to use any of them on a permanent basis -saving you the hurdle of reconfiguring the DS to enable the new Master each time you move it.

On what hardware part the Demo License Key is based?

- License Keys are used to identify a PC (they are calculated from the MAC address of your Network Adapter). You can change a hard disk or reinstall Windows, the License Key will remain the same. Only Masters (or the DS) require License Keys -not Slaves.

If you move Master (or the DS) from a PC to another and cannot move the Network Adapter used by your Registered License Key then TWD Industries will provide you with a free replacement key -but use it wisely because only one free replacement key per year is provided for each Master/DS.

What is the Registered License Key?

- TWD Industries calculates Registered License Keys from the Demo License Key generated by RA (or the DS) for your PC and the number of RA licenses you have purchased. A Registered License Key unlocks the demo mode and grants usage for a given number of RA Licenses.

At any time, you can purchase more Master and Slave licenses and all you need is just a new Registered License Key to use RA on more PCs.

Where do I find the Demo License Key? How do I get my Registered License Key?
- Download RA and purchase RA licenses. Then:

1. Run Master/DS on the PC where you intend to use it

2. Open the License Dialog Box

3. Click on the "Export to Clipboard" button

4. Create an email for

5. Paste the clipboard contents into this email

6. We will send you a Registered License Key that you
will then import in the same License dialog box.
